In 2007, Lamar County Schools joined the National Network of Partnership Schools, a research-based approach to help school systems provide direct support to schools to strengthen their programs of family and community involvement. In FY2011, the Georgia Department of Education adopted National PTA Standards for Family-School Partnerships as the state's model in engaging parents, students, and the community. Parent Input Requested for Title I and Title II
What? You are invited to provide input and assist us in developing the Lamar County School System’s Parent Involvement Policy, Equity Plan, and Implementation Plan known as the CLIP. Your input is invaluable to our planning and providing the best service for your child’s success.
Why? The Lamar County School System receives Title IA and Title IIA funds as a part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA). Title I is designed to support academic standards and provide resources to improve teaching and learning for low-achieving students. Title IA also provides funding to increase and improve parent involvement. Title IIA provides resources for recruitment, retention, and professional learning to enhance teacher and leader quality.
How? The deadline for the opportunity to complete the Annual Parent Quality Survey is passed but you can continue to provide input at anytime on the Parent Involvement Policy, the Equity Plan and the CLIP which are posted below for you to review. If you have any suggestions, please contact Mrs. Norma J. Greenwood, Assistant Superintendent at 770.358.5891 email@example.com for additional information. These three plans will be online all year for your input anytime.
