Raymond Braziel
Mr. Braziel holds the following degrees: Bachelors of Science in Middle Grades Education from Georgia College & State University, a Masters and Specialist in Educational Leadership from Troy State University. This is his 21 year in education where he has served as a teacher, assistant principal and principal.

Mr. Braziel is married to an awesome lady, Mrs. Geneva Braziel, who is also an educator. She currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and School Improvement for the Jones County School System. We are blessed to have one amazing son, Artrail Braziel, who is currently enrolled at GMC. He likes to read especially various newspapers.

Mr. Braziel is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He is also a member of Greater Union Grove Church of God In Christ where he is a Deacon and President of the Usher Board. He enjoys baking as well as watching cooking and home improvement shows.


Susan Bass

Ms. Bass holds the following degrees: a Bachelors of Science in Special Education, a Masters in Special Education, and a Specialist in Educational Leadership all from the University of West Georgia. She also holds an endorsement for Director of Special Education from the University of West Georgia This is her 32 year in education.

Ms. Bass is a proud parent of 23 year old Taylor Alexandria Bass, who is currently a senior at Georgia Southwestern State University majoring in Psychology with a minor in Healthcare. Ms. Bass is the youngest of 4 siblings. She enjoys traveling, attending concerts and stage plays, and being with family and friends. Ms. Bass also loves to decorate her home. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as well as a member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. Her all-time favorite movie is Imitation of Life!

Mrs. Christopher holds the following degrees: a Bachelors of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University; Masters in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southwestern State University; Specialist in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. This is her 17 year in education.

Mrs. Christopher is married to her best friend of 25 years, Ryan, who is the associate pastor at Mountain View Baptist Church in Thomaston. They have three wonderful children. Tyler is 24, married, and in his last year of pharmacy school at UGA. Maryana is 19, engaged, teaches dance and serves as the office manager at Ozier Studio of Dance, and is taking online college courses to become an educator. Their youngest, Knox, is 16 and a junior in high school. He lives and breathes football and concentrates on keeping his 4.0 GPA.As a pastor’s wife, she is very involved with her church and serves as the Awana and VBS director. She loves spending quality time with her family, even if it is simply sitting around the dinner table. She is a football fanatic and enjoys the Friday Night Lights of high school games and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturdays. In her spare time, she teaches online classes through the College of Education at Grand Canyon University and loves to curl up and watch Hallmark movies. Denise Finley
Denise Finley
Denise Finley currently serves as K-8 Curriculum/Learning Support Specialist for Lamar County Schools. Mrs. Finley holds a dual Specialist degree (Educational Leadership/Reading-Family Literacy) from Georgia College and State University. She has 31 years of experience as an educator working in a variety of public settings with diverse student populations from birth through high school.

Mrs. Finley has served in a number of roles as classroom teacher, instructional coach, professional learning consultant and educational curriculum consultant. Her responsibilities and expertise include: systems change efforts, curriculum and instruction, design and evaluation of professional development, coordinating MTSS/RTI process, early childhood and K-12 literacy. She has been a presenter at numerous education conferences including GLISI, Reading First, SSTAGE, Georgia Reading Consortium, Georgia College and State University and Gordon College Education programs and Griffin RESA.Mrs. Finley serves as a board member for Gordon State College School of Education and has been a guest instructor for the Early Childhood program. She is an active member of the Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy of Lamar County, SSTAGE, and GACIS, International Reading Association, Georgia Reading Association, University of Georgia Reading Consortium and American Educational Research Association. She is the past president of Delta Kappa Gamma -Upsilon -Lamar County Chapter.

Denise and her husband, Jerome, have two daughters and three grandchildren.
