Fee Fie Phonemic Awareness
Last night, our local daycare providers participated in literacy training at Lamar County Middle School. Our curriculum department taught them strategies to use to help toddlers with phonemic awareness. This is the early stage of reading and helps our preschool children develop proper reading skills.
Each participant received a book, a stipend and dinner. Each center received 3 nursery rhyme flip charts. Our goal is to work together to give our preschoolers a firm foundation before they enter school. The L4 grants allows us to provide this opportunity to our local daycare providers.
